---- — The Gallery will host events on the next two Saturdays.
From 7 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, the venue — at 128 Main St. in Stamford — will present an open mic.
The stage is open to all levels and disciplines, including professional musicians, poets, playwrights, jam bands and more.
The Gallery offers a concert hall with an in-house drum kit, grand piano, two sets of congas and a sound system. Performers are admitted free, with others asked by presenters to donate $5.
Saturday, Oct. 20, will bring a double bill starting at 8 p.m. — Party of Two and The Amazing Great.
Party of Two is vocalist DJ Potter and pianist JoAnn Chmielowski. The pair has a large repertoire of music — which crosses genres, six decades and borders — including rock, jazz, Broadway, Latin, folk, opera and international contemporary.
Joining them will be the Amazing Great, also known as Brian Foley. The magician has performed on four continents as a busker, corporate entertainer, on cruise ships, at trade shows, society balls and European casinos. His style is a mixture of close-up magic and parlor-style entertainment.
Admission for this event is $8. Presenters welcome food and/or beverages to pass. For more details, call 652-4030 or visit www.touhey.com.
Chmielowski also will perform solo from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Belvedere Cabaret, located at 41 Genesee St. in Greene as the first part of the Musical Jazz Brunch Series. She has roots in piano rock, folk, reggae and blues. In addition to Party of Two, the pianist plays with Polish Moses.
Tickets are $20, which includes brunch. For more information, call 656-5858 or 221-2460.
