---- — Saturday at the Oneonta Theatre will feature two shows: New York Funk Exchange at 4 p.m. and Badfish: A Tribute to Sublime at 8 p.m.

New York Funk Exchange is a nine-piece original funk and soul band from Brooklyn. Since its formation in 2007, the NYFE has played more than 200 live shows nationwide, sharing the stage with Nas, Damian Marley, Martha and the Vandellas, Eddie Money, Fred Wesley & the new JB’s, Topaz and more.

The group’s sound is a blend of old-school funk, jazz, soul and R&B. The band released its debut album, “The Funkonomic Stimulus Plan,” in 2009. A sophomore album is due in the near future, a media release said.

Badfish will follow the NYFE with special guests Scotty Don’t. Formed in 2001, the Sublime tribute band has sold out clubs and theaters throughout the Northeast and Midwest, a media release said, including Avalon in Boston, the Starland Ballroom in New Jersey, the Opera House in Toronto, and the House of Blues in Chicago, Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

The group looks to “encompass the sense of place and purpose long associated with Sublime’s music” by “replicating Sublime’s essence, developing a scene and dedicated following most commonly reserved for label-driven, mainstream acts.”

Admission to the Badfish concert is $18.50 in advance and $22.50 on the day of the show. The New York Funk Exchange show is free for Badfish ticket holders and $5 for others. For more information, go to www.oneontatheatre.com. The theater is at 47 Chestnut St. in Oneonta.
