---- — The Catskill Brass and guest artists will present the 18th annual rendition of A Hometown Christmas on Sunday at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Franklin beginning at 5 p.m.

Appearing with the Brass will be vocalist Eric Johnson and keyboardist Kim Paterson. The program will also include a special appearance by Charles Schneider.

Brass players performing on the concert are Ben Aldridge and Carleton Clay, playing trumpets, flugelhorn and cornet, Gregory Willians on the horn, Donald Robertson Jr., playing trombone and euphonium and Michael DePauw on tuba.

Johnson directs the Opera Workshop and teaches voice at Syracuse University, while singing regularly as a soloist with musical ensembles throughout the Northeast. He has sung on several occasions with the Catskill Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Catskill Choral Society and on numerous concerts produced by the Catskill Conservatory.  Paterson has performed with virtually all the major musical ensembles in central New York, in addition to teaching at both Hartwick College and the State University College at Oneonta.

The concert will consist of sacred and secular music of the holiday season, including several original compositions and arrangements. The free concert is presented as a gift to the community by Tom Morgan and Erna McReynolds, in association with the Catskill Conservatory, in memory of the late Jack Beal of Franklin, who died on Sept. 7.

This year’s concert begins at 5 p.m., an earlier start time than previous years. For more information, call the Catskill Conservatory at 436-3419.
