---- — The original version of “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown,” first produced Off-Broadway in 1967 with a run of 1,597 straight performances, is being produced in Oneonta this Summer by Sing a Song of Broadway & Co, an independent local community theater. Direction and staging is by Jeanne Langdon.
The show is based on the comic strip “Peanuts” by Charles M. Schulz with book, music and lyrics by Clark Gesner, and will be performed by arrangement with Tams-Witmark Music Library Inc. in New York.
Featured performers are Gavin Smith as Charlie Brown, Megan Robbins as Lucy, Estefan Bonilla as Snoopy, Greg Hunter as Linus, Joe Casassa as Schroeder and Sarah Collins as Patty. Molly D’Amato, Amethyst Gardner and Caroline Bagby round out the cartoon neighborhood in the ensemble.
Xandry Langdon is the show’s musical director. Hannah Weinell on piano, Eric Ball on percussion, Emily Weite on flute, and William Fredette on bass make up the four-piece orchestra combo. Chris Sadlocha and Brandon Malowski are technical directors. The scenic design is by Dee Singer, and choreography will be by Janet Lampo.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. June 28, 4 p.m. June 29 and 1 p.m. June 30 in the First United Methodist Church Hall in Oneonta. Tickets are available now at the church by calling 432-4102 and from cast, crew or musicians. They can also be purchased at the door before performances. The cost is $15 for adults, $10 for students and $5 for ages 12 and younger.
