Actor/singer to take stage of 6OTS

Actor, singer, songwriter and storyteller Ronny Cox will be joined by Karen Mal and Radoslav Lorković  on the 6 On The Square stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

For more than four decades, Cox has had a acting career, from Deliverance to “Dexter,” portraying a diverse range of characters. He was in the movies “Total Recall” and “Robocop” and in the Sci-Fi TV series “Stargate SG-1.” More recently he was in the highly popular TV series “Desperate Housewives” and as the Tooth Fairy Killer in Showtime’s “Dexter.”  In his first film, “Deliverance,” the movie that launched his acting career, he was the guitarist in the famous “dueling banjos” scene.

He has released eight CDs, a mixture of jazz, folk and western tunes.

2012 marked the 40th Anniversary of Deliverance and Cox celebrated it via his book, “Dueling Banjos: The Deliverance of Drew. “Warner Bros Home Video released a deluxe version of the film. In addition, Cox and his friends went into the recording studio one day and five and a half hours later came out with “Ronny, Rad and Karen” featuring Lorković and Mal, released in 2013.

Mal has been playing with Cox for seven years, playing mandolin and sings harmonies. Lorković handles accordion, keyboards and other instruments.
