Esquela to perform at Shire

The locally born Americana band Esquela will performance at 5 p.m. Saturday at The Shire Pub at 123 Main St. in Delhi, as a featured part of Delhi’s Parade Day festivities. There will be no cover charge.

Esquela released its sophomore album, “Are We Rolling?,” last summer.  

Esquela features the duo of vocalist Rebecca Frame and guitarist Brian Shafer, as well as front-man John “Chico” Finn on bass and vocals, Todd Russell on drums and vocals, and Matt Woodin on guitars and mandolin. The band has shared the stage with artists like Steve Wynn, Jason Ringenberg, Hellbound Glory, Whitey Morgan and the 78’s, Marah, Dash Rip Rock, and The New Heathens, among many others.

The fourth annual Delhi St. Patrick’s Day Parade will begin at noon on Main Street, followed by a performance by Southern Tier Irish quartet, The Stoutmen, at the Shire Pub, at 1 p.m.

Theater company to stage musical

Sing a Song of Broadway & Company announced its summer musical will be “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat,” with music by Andrew Lloyd Weber and lyrics by Tim Rice. 

Sing a Song of Broadway is a unique grassroots community theater that performed the original version of “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown” in June on the stage of the First United Methodist Church as well as numerous music theater cabarets at Oneonta First Nights and throughout the area, 

The biblical story of Joseph and his “coat of many colors” will come to life in Oneonta in a full-length Broadway musical parable. Actors, singers, dancers, acrobats, musicians, technical and design staff, as well as costume and backstage assistants, are invited to join the creative team of this upcoming multi-age venture.

Cast auditions, individually and in small groups, will begin in April at a variety of locations, with all roles available. Details will be announced at a future date.
