Music on the Delaware will present Irish band Cherish the Ladies at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Walton Theatre at 7:30 p.m. An open jam session will precede the concert at 6:30 p.m.
The all-women Celtic band has been in existence since 1985, has toured around the world, and has recorded 15 albums. Under the leadership of Joanie Madden on flutes and whistles, the band blends a spectacular array of instrumental talents, vocals, arrangements and step dancing. They have won numerous awards and have shared the stage with such noted entertainers as James Taylor, Joan Baez, Emmy Lou Harris, the Clancy Brothers, and the Chieftains, as well as dozens of orchestras.
The Walton Theatre concert will feature five band members, including vocalist Cathie Ryan, and two dancers.
