CSO to have sub auditions
Music Director Charles Schneider announced that the Catskill Symphony will hold open auditions for its sub list at 9 a.m. Saturday. They will be held on the State University College at Oneonta campus in the Fine Arts Building in Room 201.

Players may perform any work they so choose. Players of all instruments are needed.
Gallery to host open mic
The Gallery at 128 Main St. in Stamford will host and open mic/open jam from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday.
The “Second Saturdays” continue as a stage for talent of all levels and diversities, from the professional musician to the individual who has a song who just has to express.
Poets, singers, instrumentalists, playwrights, actors and more are welcome, and a group jam may break out.
Those who wish to watch are also welcome.
The Gallery is open from 2 to 11:30 p.m. on Second Saturdays. The music formally begins at 7 p.m.

Jazz to be heardat B-Side
Steve Fabrizio will sing jazz standards at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the B-Side Ballroom in Oneonta.
Fabrizio is a singer and actor who has performed in multiple Broadway shows and has toured nationally.
He will perform jazz standards including tunes including ones associated with Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. He will perform with a jazz quartet of Gerry Falco on piano, Sadiq Abdushahid on drums, Greg Langdon on sax and Chris Wolf-Gould on bass.
The B-Side Ballroom is at 1 Clinton Plaza.
Magician to perform at Gallery
The Gallery at 128 Main St. in Stamford will host magician Brian Foley “The Amazing Great” from 8 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 19.
The Gallery will open at 7 p.m. for tours and take part in a potluck dinner.
Foley will entertain with feats of prodigious memory, rapid mental calculations, mind reading and playing card artistry.
There will be audience participation.
Foley has performed magic for more than 30 years, and has presented his act on four continents.
Part of his show consists of monologues about his experiences as a busker (street-performer) in New York City, Key West, and all over Europe during his early years.

Artisans guild opens second gallery
The Catskill Mountain Artisans Guild of Margaretville has opened a second 2,700-square-foot gallery at 76 Main St. in Delhi.
Renovations of the gallery began last July and over the past month artists have begun to settle into their areas. More than 50 regional artists are already involved in the gallery, but there is still space for a dozen additional artists in certain categories as well as furniture, art cards, gourmet foods and wool products.
This weekend will be a “soft” opening for the gallery with many artists still getting settled and new artists joining weekly. There will be a “Grand Opening Party” in November. The gallery is opened this week from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Monday, but will be open daily by the end of the month, according to a media release. Open Mic in the Yurt planned
The next Open Mic in the Yurt will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at the Blue Deer Center at 1155 County Route 6, in Margaretville.
The free open mics are generally held the fourth Thursday of the month. Participants and watcher s are welcome.
