‘Perceptual Abstraction’ open at CANO

The Community Arts Network of Oneonta  is featuring Stacy Brock’s “Perceptual Abstraction” in its gallery at the Wilber Mansion at 11 Ford Ave. in Onoenta through April 28. Gallery hours are 4 to 8 p.m.Thursdays and Fridays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays, noon to 3 p.m. Sunday and by appointment.

‘Made in Paint’ to open Saturday

‘Made in Paint,’ an exhibit of works by 20 artists who were in residence in 2013 at the Golden Foundation Residency Barn, will open with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the Sam and Adele Golden Gallery. 

The gallery is at 188 Bell Road in New Berlin. For information, call 431-8765. 

Student works to be on display

SUNY Oneonta’s Annual Student Juried Art Exhibition will open Monday and run through May 17 in the college’s Martin -Mullen Art Gallery.

More than 100 works by student artists will be on display. Featured art works were chosen from an open jury process and works entered by the art faculty. Painting, drawing, sculpture, digital print, digital video and an assortment of mixed media make up this year’s offerings. 

Awards will be presented at a reception for the artists from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17. The reception, which is open to the public, will include refreshments and live music by the student jazz ensemble.

Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, during special events and by appointment while classes are in session. For information, call Gallery Director Tim Sheesley at 436-3456.
