---- — ‘Amazing Great’ to perform
The Gallery in Stamford will host Brian Foley, “The Amazing Great,” today at 7 p.m. He will entertain with “feats of prodigious memory, unbelievably rapid mental calculations, mind reading, and of course, playing card artistry,” according to a media release, in a show that will include audience participation.
Attendees may arrive at The Gallery at 128 Main St. at 6 p.m. to tour the artwork on display. There will also be a potluck dinner where people are asked to bring a dish to share.
Foley has been performing magic for more than 30 years, and has presented his act on four continents. Having been based in Europe for 18 of those years, he’s worked for heads of state, corporations such as Coca-Cola, BMW, Delta Airlines, on cruise ships and trade shows. Part of his show consists of monologues about his experiences as a street performer.

‘Art in Bloom’ show opens today
The Oneonta Federated Garden Club, in cooperation with the Community Arts Network of Oneonta, will present the ninth annual Art in Bloom Show today at The Wilber Mansion at 11 Ford Ave. in Oneonta. A reception, with refreshments, will open the show from 5 to 7 p.m.
For the show, garden club members select a work of art on display at the CANO Gallery and create a floral arrangement to compliment that work. Visitors to the show will be asked to cast a ballot for the arrangement of their choice. A Popular Choice Award will be presented to the club member receiving the most votes.
The show will also be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
‘Cans & Clams’ under way in Andes
The Andes Hotel’s Cans & Clams series continues on Fridays during the summer, featuring live music and food and drink specials from 6 to 9 p.m. The schedule for the remainder of the summer is as follows:

Trio to perform vintage jazz
The Patti Van Tassel Trio will perform tunes from the American songbook at 6:30 p.m. today at the Old Bunn Mill in Richmondville.
The trio of Van Tassel on vocals, Daniel Soccorso on keyboards, and Tom Ives on stand-up bass will perform jazz tunes from the 1920s through the 1980s. The event will include ice cream and refreshments, with donations accepted to benefit the Bunn Mill Restoration Project and the Richmondville Historical Society.

Group seeks 10-minute plays
The Open Eye Theater, a not-for profit company in Margaretville, is seeking a dozen 10-minute plays for its upcoming Summer Shortcuts III. Plays selected will be fully produced, directed, and performed by experienced artists. Comedy, drama, mystery, historical, musical, spoof, and more are welcome. Plays may be new, previously produced elsewhere, or published.
Casts may include actors of any age. Production values and sets should be simple.
Performance dates are Aug. 8 to 18. Submit Word or PDF document by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, with “Ten-Minute Play” in the subject line, before June 30.
Oneonta Theatre to host Mavericks
The Mavericks, with guests Hop City Hellcats and Nick Piccininni, will perform at Oneonta Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 28.
Tickets cost $45 for gold, $35 for silver and $25 for bronze. They are on sale at www.oneontatheatre.com and at Eighth Note, Green Toad, Maxwell’s and Music Square.
