The SUNY Oneonta Department of Theatre and the Mask and Hammer Theatre Club will present “Fuddy Meers,” a comedy by David Lindsay-Abaire, in the Hamblin Theater of the Fine Arts Building on the SUNY Oneonta campus. Performances will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, Oct. 13, as well as at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14.
The play depicts a day in the life of Claire, a middle-aged wife and mother with a rare form of amnesia that erases her memory whenever she falls asleep.
Claire tries to regain her memory while facing bizarre characters and plot twists. Characters include her chipper husband, a perpetually stoned son, a gibberish-speaking mother, a claustrophobic female cop, a dimwitted thug with a foul-mouthed hand puppet and a limping, lisping, half-blind, half-deaf man in a ski mask.
The show is directed by Andrew Kahl and stars Megan Harrington, Christopher Mackin, Cristian LaBoy, Mark Durkee, Lizzy Heck, Tony Ruperto and Taylor Hogan.
The show contains strong language and potentially offensive subject matter.
Tickets are $5 general admission or free with valid student identification. For tickets and more information, go to tickets.oneonta.edu. Tickets can be picked up at the Hunt Union information desk or at the Fine Arts box office an hour before curtain on performance days.
