The Cooperstown Art Association will open an exhibit — “An Artistic Discovery” — with an reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 8 at 22 Main St. in Cooperstown.
The show features work for the Congressional Art Competition for Otsego County high school students. Held within the 19th Congressional District by county, six students will receive ribbons for their work at the CAA, and a digital image of their artwork will be submitted to Rep. Chris Gibson’s office for final selection in the next phase of the competition.
From there, one student’s work will go on display in the corridor leading to the Capitol along with 49 other high school artists’ work from across the country.
The CAA will also reopen its Artist Sale Gallery, with a variety of original work by local and regional member artists. Jewelry, ceramics, fiber and more will be for sale through November.
The exhibit runs through March 29.
