Center plans reception, show
The Butternut Valley Arts & Crafts Center on Main Street in Morris will host a reception and show this weekend featuring Crystal’s Custom Hand Blown Glass by Hartwick graduate Crystal Postighone.
The reception will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Today and the show will be from noon until 4 p.m. Saturday.

Theater to show Chinese film
Open Eye’s Tuesday Night at the Theater will present “Wild Horse from Shangri-la” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at 960 Main St. in Margaretville.
Written by Dennis Chan, Zhaopei Gan and Gigo Lee, the film focuses on Wild Horse’s discovery that his little sister needs expensive medication to live. He decides to try to win a marathon for the cash prize. The film is in Mandarin with English subtitles. A discussion about the film will follow the screening.

Foothills to host Met simulcast
As part of the Metropolitan Opera of New York City Live in HD season, Foothills Performing Arts and Civic Center at 24 Market St. in Oneonta will present Richard Wagner’s “Parsifal” at noon Saturday.
Foothills will host a simulcast of the performance. The opera is loosely based on Wolfram von Eschenbach’s “Parzival,” the 13th century epic poem of Arthurian knight Parzival and his question for the Holy Grail and on Chreiten de Troyes’ “Perceval, the Story of the Grail.”
