---- — Foothills Performing Arts and Civic Center — at 24 Market St. in Oneonta — will host jam band Rusted Root at 7 p.m. Friday, March 8.

Formed in the early 1990s by singer/guitarist Michael Glabicki, Rusted Root plays a blend of roots music and world rock.

The group has released seven albums and sold more than 3 million records worldwide. After debuting in 1992 with the self-released “Cruel Sun,” Rusted Root signed with Mercury Records and released the 1994 platinum-selling “When I Woke,” which features songs including “Send Me on My Way,” “Ecstasy” and “Martyr.” “Send Me On My Way” is featured in the movie “Ice Age.”

The Pittsburgh band has toured with Santana, Dave Matthews Band, the Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers Band, HORDE Festival and the Jimmy Page/Robert Plant reunion tour.

In 1996, the group — after extensive touring — returned with “Remember,” which was followed by 1998’s self-titled album.

In 2002, the band released “Welcome To My Party.” This was followed up with double live album “Rusted Root Live” in 2004. The group’s latest album is “The Movement,” released last year.

In addition to Glabicki on lead vocals, guitar and harmonica are Patrick Norman on bass guitar, backing vocals and percussion; Liz Berlin on percussion and backing vocals; Colter Harper on guitar and backing vocals; Preach Freedom on percussion and backing vocals; and Dirk Miller on guitar and backing vocals.

Special guests Joel Plaskett and Pete Elkas will open the show. Tickets are $25 for gold seating and $18 for silver seats. For more details, call 431-2080 or go to foothillspac.org.
