Film series

to feature

‘Chicken Run’

The ninth annual Cabin Fever Film Series continues at 7 p.m. today with the 2000 movie “Chicken Run”at the Fenimore Art Museum. The museum is at 5798 State Route 80 in Cooperstown. The film is set at Tweedy’s Chicken Farm, where any chicken who doesn’t make her egg quota can meet a “fowl” fate.

The series, which is free, continues with “Toy Story 3” on Jan. 18 at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum Grandstand Theater at 25 Main St. in Cooperstown. Other films in the series include “Meeting Venus,” on Jan. 25 at the Fenimore, “Groundhog Day” on Feb. 1 at the Fenimore and “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” on Feb. 8 at the Hall.

Hartwick hosts

dual exhibit

Hartwick College’s Foreman Gallery will host “ONtheEDGE,” featuring the large-scale paintings of Carlos Fragoso and sculptures of Audrie Sturman, through Feb. 16. The artists will attend a reception from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Feb. 14.

Nature oil paintings focus of show

The oil paintings of forests and streams by artist Lois Ostapczuk are on exhibit at the Catskill Watershed Corp. at 905 Main St. in Margaretville through Feb. 28.

Ostapczuk focuses her paintings on Maltby Hollow Brook, Red Rock Falls of Upper Esopus Creek, the Rondout Creek above Blue Hole, Roaring Kill Creef off the Schoharie and the Conklin Hill Covered Bridge over the Willowemoc. Also included in the show is a long view of the Reservoir Dividing Weir and an expertly aluminum rainbow trout, which was part of the 2012 Leaping Trout Project of the Ashokan-Pepacton Watershed Chapter of Trout Unlimited.

Hotel to present swing night

The Andes Hotel, at 110 Main St. in Andes, will host a swing night from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday.

The event begins with dance lessons by Linda Leverock from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by two hours of swing dancing.
