The Daily Star

---- — (AP) — The Blenheim-Gilboa Visitors Center will present a trio of Rat Pack movies in January at 1378 State Route 30 in North Bleniheim. The center is about 17 miles south of Middleburgh and five miles north of Grand Gorge.

First up is the 1963 film “4 for Texas,” featuring Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin. Also starring Charles Bronson, Anita Ekberg and Ursula Andress, the movie is a Western comedy about a shipment of cash traveling via stagecoach, a bid to open a waterfront casino and a fight with an outlaw band.

Second is “Robin and the 7 Hoods” from 1964 with Sinatra, Martin and Sammy David Jr. The musical also features Bing Crosby, Peter Falk, Edward G. Robinson and Barbara Rush. The film transplants the Robin Hood legend to a 1930s gangster setting. The movie introduced the song “My Kind of Town” by Jimmy Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn.

Last is 1962’s “Sergeants 3,” starring Sinatra, Martin, Davis and Peter Lawford. A remake of 1939’s “Gunga Din” set in the American West, the stars are U.S. Calvary sergeants stationed in the Indian Territory in 1870.

All the screenings start at 2 p.m., are free and include popcorn. For more information, call (800) 724-0309 or visit

The New York Power Authority’s handicapped-accessible facility is housed in a restored 19th century dairy barn and features hands-on exhibits for students off all ages and abilities.

In addition to viewing the films, visitors can learn about how the Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Power Project acts like a giant battery, generating hydroelectricity while recycling water between two reservoirs.

Other displays demonstrate the basics of electricity, energy production and conservation.
