---- — As soldiers continually risk their lives to ensure the rights and freedoms of millions of civilians throughout the nation, the Folds of Honor Foundation provides aid to the thousands of spouses and children of these service men and women killed or disabled while serving this country.
The Oneonta Theatre has partnered with the foundation to offer the third annual American Heroes benefit. The event will take place at tonight at the Oneonta Theatre. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show is set to begin at 8 p.m.
Headlining the benefit will be country singer/songwriter Darryl Worley with guests Just Throw Money. Throughout the singer’s musical career he has produced more than 20 hit singles including three No. 1 songs, albums that top the charts and sales that have reached into the millions.
Morley has topped the charts with singles including “I Miss My Friend,” “Awful, Beautiful Life” and “Have You Forgotten,” which accomplished the feat for one, two and an incredible seven weeks, respectively.
The show will get started with the band Just Throw Money.
In the form of scholarships, the Folds of Honor Foundation’s goal is to provide continuous aid to military families. These scholarships help to offset rising costs of tuition, fees, textbooks, room and board, and more to help children entering secondary education. The foundation is also aiding efforts to provide scholarships to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Many scholarships can be used as awarded or held until the said child is ready to enroll in a secondary school program.
Tickets are on sale for $30 at the door.
