‘Shakespeare’ play to be reprised

“The Compleat Works of William Shakespeare Abridged” will return the Cooperstown Theatre Festival at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 23 and 24, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 

Smithy Center for the Arts’ Glimmer Globe Theatre Company will present the reprise. Though originally this weekend was scheduled to feature “Flowers for Algernon,” it was replaced due to casting difficulties. 

Those who had purchased a ticket package and would like a refund may contact the SCA at events@smithyarts.org or 547-8671.

The Cooperstown Theatre Festival is at 7163 State Highway 80 north of Cooperstown in the town of Springfield.

The play is directed by Danielle Newell, performed by Steve Dillon, Mike Henrici and Jake Wansor, and stage managed by Daniel Rositano, assisted by Cassie Howe.

Open mic set for Aug. 29

The Open Mic in the Yurt at Blue Deer Center will be on Aug. 29 this month and will continue on the fourth Thursday of each month. The open mic will take place from 7  to 9 p.m. at the center at 1155 County Route 6 in Margaretville. For more information, call (845) 586-3225.

Tom Chapin concert to benefit SALT

Tom Chapin will perform a benefit concert for Schoharie Area Long Term at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at the Presbyterian Church on Main St. in Schoharie.

Tickets will be $15 for adults and $5 for children.

Tickets may be purchased on line at saltrecovery.org/chapin.
