Afton Community Theater will present “9 to 5 — The Musical” at 8 p.m. today and Saturday, as well as at 2 p.m. Sunday at Afton Central School at 18 Sand St. in Afton.
The musical comedy — featuring music by Dolly Parton and is based on the 1980 hit movie “Nine to Five” starring Parton, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda.
Pushed to the boiling point by their boss, three female co-workers devise a plan to get event with him. They conspire to take control of the company and learn there’s nothing they can’t do — even in a man’s world.
Set in the late 1970s, “9 to 5” is a story of revenge and friendship in the Rolodex era. The production star Ellen Pepper Gay, Doddy Lee Crisell, Lori Koblanski, Ken Wilber, Amanda Perrino, Gary Gay, Dan Spencer, Hollie Vanderhyde, Jody Genung and Elana Hulsey. The show is directed by Cameron Kinnear.
