Cabaret duo to pay tribute to 1950s

Cabaret duo Patricia Dell and Kent Brown will present “Music! Music! Music! A Tribute to the Ladies of the 1950s” at 6 p.m. Saturday at Hanah Mountain Resort & Country Club. The resort is at 576 W. Hubbell Hill Road in Margaretville.

The show will highlight the songs of Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day, Peggy Lee and others.

“Kent and I have a mutual love affair with the magnificent repertoire of American music and the ladies who made these songs popular,” Dell said in a media release.

“People love the intimacy and storytelling of these great melodies, and cabaret, with its cozy theatricality, is an ideal setting to hear them again,” Brown said in the release. “We found that people of all ages have been missing this music as much as we had.”

“When we perform, we’re not only having a blast,” he added, “we also feel deeply privileged to be able to give this music to our audiences.”

Dell is a veteran actress and dancer, playing such roles as Mame Dennis in “Auntie Mame” and Desiree in “A Little Night Music.”

Brown began playing the organ for his church in Iowa Falls, Iowa, at 12; he is now organist for two upstate churches. He has a master of music degree and has served as musical director for numerous theatrical productions throughout the Catskills.

Tickets — which include appetizers, buffet, dessert and coffee bar — are $39 per person and $70 per couple. For reservations and more information, call (845) 586-4849.
