The Nields to perform Sept. 7

The Daily Star

---- — The Earlville Opera House will present The Nields in a free family concert at 7 p.m. Sept. 7. The free concert will be at the historic theater in Earlville and is in collaboration with Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival weekend that features a full line of folk-rock performers in Norwich on Sept. 8 and 9.

According to a media release, “The Nields are sisters known for their gorgeous vocal harmonies and their careers show that they are also experts in being way-too-busy. Nerissa and Katryna Nields have been the darlings of the coffeehouse/festival scene since 1991, with tunes ranging from the idiosyncratic to kicking to heartbreaking. Their approach to songs and songwriting really invites the listener into the music making process. The Nields have fifteen folk recordings under their belt, including two for children, bringing folk to the next generation!”

The Nields have just released a CD titled “The Full Catastrophe.”  The full catastrophe is a line taken from the line from Zorba the Greek: “I’m a man, so I married. Wife, children, house, everything. The full catastrophe.”

The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, or to reserve seats, call 315-691-3550.
