Art auction to benefit RAG

At 3 p.m. Saturday, the Roxbury Arts Group will host “For Arts’ Sake,” a fundraising event that will include a silent and live auction of fine art, crafts and jewelry contributed by more than 60 regional artists. All the funds raised at this event will go to support the programs offered by the Roxbury Arts Group and the participating artists.

RAG has offered arts programming in Delaware County for more than three decades. This year, the group will offer more than 50 in-school and after-school art programs; more than 300 days of performances, workshops, exhibits, special community events at their venues in Roxbury, Stamford, and the Denver-Vega Valley; and award more than $25,000 in grants to support artists and arts programs across Delaware County.

“It is amazing when you consider all that the Roxbury Arts Group does,” Executive Director Jenny Rosenzweig said in a media release, “and it is through the support of fundraising and events like ‘For Arts’ Sake’ that it is possible.”

Artists contributing to the event include Jessica Aaronson, Christine Alexander, Armando Aranjo, Robert Axelrod, Richard Birkett, David L. Bruce, Karen Butcher, Susanna Clemm, Marie Cummings, Susan Daley, Janice DeMarino, Priscilla Derven, Christopher Durham, Joan Dworkin, Lisbeth Firmin, Deborah Freedman, Ann Lee Fuller, Deborah Geurtze, Elaine Grandy, Steve Gross, Walter Gurbo, Robin Halpern, Oneida Hammond, Nina Jordan, Susan Kenny, Matthais Kern, Peter Ketchum, Joseph Kurhajec, David Levenson, Margaret Levenson, Simone Mantellassi, John Manzi, Helene Manzo, Ira McCrudden, Bonnie Mitchell, Joanna Murphy, Susan Penick, Jody Primoff, Edmond Rinnooy Kan, Chelsea Shultis, Marilyn Silver, Nat Thomas, John Van Aken, Gerda van Leeuwen, Linda Webb Varian, William Waggoner, Ros Welchman and Peter Yamaoka.
