The West Kortright Centre will present the bluegrass band Cabinet at 8 p.m. Saturday.
The Scranton-based band, formed in 2006, brings together players from various musical and personal backgrounds — Pappy Biondo on banjo and vocals, J.P. Biondo on mandolin and vocals, Mickey Coviello on acoustic guitar and vocals, Dylan Skursky on electric bass and double bass, Todd Kopec on fiddle and vocals, and Jami Novak on drums and percussion.
The band has been picked up by Ropeadope Recordings and plays venues nationwide and festivals including SXSW, Musikfest, Floyd Fest, Peach Music Festival, Philadelphia Folk Festival, and Dark Star Jubilee. Cabinet has shared the stage with the likes of Yonder Mountain String Band, Allman Brothers, Pokey LaFarge, Infamous String Dusters, Railroad Earth, Rusted Root, Dark Star Orchestra, Keller Williams, 7 Walkers, and New Riders of the Purple Sage
The band’s latest offering, “This is Cabinet - Set II,” is a seven-song album — six originals and a cover of The Byrds’s “Mr. Spaceman.”
Tickets for the concert are $15 in advance or $18 at the door, $12 or $15 for WKC members and $11 younger than 19. For more information, call 278-5454 or visit www.westkc.org.
