The number 13 may be bad luck for some, but not for the duo known as 13 For Life, Darren Collins and Eric Wetmore. They were both born on the 13th, they met when they were 13 years old and today — Friday, June 13, — the duo will host an open house CD release show for their new collaboration “Even More” from 7 to 10 p.m. It will take place at the coffee house in Roxbury Arts Group’s venue at 76 MAIN! in Stamford.
For Collins and Wetmore it all started when they were 13. They met in Hobart and started their first band together called Exit. They went their separate ways after high school and in the early 1990s, they got together for a brief time to write and record a few songs. But it wasn’t until 2010 that these two musicians found themselves working together again, collaborating and performing.
Collins and Wetmore write songs on their own and when they write a song together, it is usually Wetmore who writes the music and Collins who writes the lyrics. The duo released “Music Kitchen” in 2012 and “Dream Away” in 2013.
Admission is free, and the event is open to the public. For more information, call the Roxbury Arts Group at 326.7908.
