6 On The Square will present singer-comedian Don White at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
White is a singer/songwriter/guitarist/and recording artist. He has 10 albums, a book of short stories and a DVD titled, “Family Man – Don White Live.” He learned and honed his art of songwriting and performing in the trenches: often doing nine shows a week at Catch a Rising Star over 2½ years.
Tickets are available online at $15 plus a $2 surcharge or $18 at the door. Tickets for students younger than 18 are $2, but reservations are required. Doors open one-hour prior to show time.
The mixed media artwork by the students of the Oxford Academy schools are on display at 6OTS through August.
In addition, tickets are on sale for two 6OTS raffles. One is for an autographed quilt signed by a year’s worth of 6OTS performers. The tickets are $2 each or an arm’s length for $20. The second raffle is for a 50/50, and the tickets are $10 each. Only 200 tickets were printed, so the first-place winner could win up to $1,000. There will be a second prize of a tote filled with 25 CDs. These drawings will be held at the seventh Anniversary Show, with SONiA and disappear fear, on June 21. All raffle proceeds support programming at 6OTS.
The next open mic night, which is held the third Thursday of the month, will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Admission is free.
Upcoming events include a Djembe Drumming Workshop from 7 to 9 p.m. June 24 and a free concert in Lafayette Park with The Burns and Kristy Band at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 6.
