Woodwind trio to be final 'Essential Thursday' performance

---- — The Roxbury Arts Group will present the final of three “Essential Thursdays” performances at the Old School Baptist Church with a woodwind trio at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Old School Baptist Church at 6424 County Highway 36 in Denver.

World-renowned pianist Jungeun Kim, director of instrumental accompaniment and outside performances at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, Pa., and executive director of the New York State Music Festival in Oneonta, curated three performances for the “Essential Thursdays” series. The first performance was a jazz quartet featuring Janelle Reichman on tenor saxaphone, Matt Davis on guitar, Bob Sabin on bas, and Gernot Bernroider on drums. A classical duo featured Kim on piano and Saeka Matsuyama on violin on July 11.  The final performance will be Robert Phillips on bassoon, Pascal Archer on clarinet and Mark Snyder on oboe.

Phillips was recently a guest performer at the 2012 International Double Reed Society conference, and was also featured in an Emmy-award winning episode of “Across Indiana” as a member of the Dynamic Agenda Bassoon Quartet.

Archer is a clarinet soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player and teacher, and is the artistic director and founder of Exponential Ensemble, a chamber music ensemble influenced by music and mathematics. He is principal clarinet of the Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic. 

Snyder presented his New York recital debut to critical acclaim in March 2002 at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall as a prize winner of the Artists International Competition. Snyder has toured throughout the United States and Asia performing with various orchestras
