Photography exhibit to open at DCHA

On Aug. 2, the Delaware County Historical Association will open an exhibit with a free wine and cheese reception from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit, titled “City Meets Country,” features the photography by Sidney native Beth Brown. Brown’s work explores the juxtaposition of New York City and Delaware County.

Brown lives in Brooklyn and is teaching middle school as well as pursuing her love of photography. She is a member of Professional Photographers of Greater New York and The Cooperstown Art Association. She received an Award of Merit for the 2013 CAA Regional Juried Art Exhibition. She was a 2012 and 2013 Guest Artist at the Smithy Pioneer Gallery in Cooperstown. The Brooklyn Tabernacle’s 2012 mission ministry trip to the Dominican Republic was documented by her photos. Her photography has been presented in the Mariea Brown & Raymond Loft Galleries by the Chenango Arts Council Norwich, The Wilber Mansion by the Community Arts Network of Oneonta, & the Sidney Memorial Public Library.

City Meets Country will be on display in the Elijah Thomas Gallery until Sept. 5. The gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. Admission is free.
