Franklin Stage Company will welcome back Mettawee River Theatre Company with a new play, “Taliesin,” adapted from a medieval Welsh legend of sorcery and intrigue at 8 p.m. today. Admission is free and donations are accepted.
Under the artistic directorship of multi-award winning Ralph Lee, Mettawee’s storytelling style includes giant figures, puppets, masks and live music. For the fourth consecutive year, Mettawee will perform under lights on the Franklin Central School Playing Field. Audience members are urged to bring blankets or lawn chairs, and may picnic starting 6 p.m. Reservations are accepted for this performance only in case of rain, as the rain location is Chapel Hall, where seating is limited. Call 829-3700 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Starting at 6 p.m., Frankin Farmers’ Market vendor Wheat Hill Farms will offer a dinner for a picnic or served under a tent on the lawn at Chapel Hall. The menu consists of grilled vegetables, or chicken or beef kebab with rice pilaf, salad, farm-made yogurt, Turkish bread and iced tea. The price is $12 per person. Reservations are requested.
