WKC to host songwriter, band

Songwriter Iris DeMent, on vocals, piano and guitar, is on tour for the first time with a band, including percussionist Bryan Owings, vocalist Jason Wilbur, bassist David Jacques and pedal steel guitarist John Graboff.

She will perform at 8 p.m. today at the West Kortright Center at 49 W Kortright Church Road. Cost is $34, or $30 for WKC members or $18 for those younger than 19.

Fourth Friday art walk to continue

Downtown Norwich will be in full swing starting as early as 4 p.m. today for the monthly Fourth Friday art walk and show. Following the art walk, there are two artist receptions from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Jill Kraft gallery will feature the works of photographer Kathleen Moser and feature music by guitarist Jamie Willard today.

Moser, who lives in the Oxford area, has been doing photography for the past 20 years and specializes in fine art portraiture.

Just down the block, guest artist Carol Lukovich, a pine needle basket weaver and teacher will be the featured at Made In Chenango. Refreshments will be provided by Garfs Deli and Fojo bean Coffee Roasters.

Party of Two and Band to play

Susquehanna Trail Campground and Music Park at 4292 State Highway 7 in Oneonta will present Party of Two and Band at 7 p.m. Saturday.  The group will present a 1960s and ‘70s night featuring the hits of Neil Diamond. Party of Two, the duo of DJ (Davey Joe) Potter, vocalist, and JoAnn Bertone Chmielowski, pianist, will be accompanied by drummer Joe Tokarowski, and bass player MW Degan, and will feature special guest vocalist Judy Pitel, with trumpet player Peter Daum and backup vocalist Autumn Harmony.
