Singer-songwriter duo Burns and Kristy will bring their original folk and contemporary country repertoire to 6 On The Square in Oxford this weekend.
Terry Burns and Ron Kristy will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Advance tickets are $12, or $15 at the door.
Terry Burns, the youngest of the Burns Sisters, recorded three records with her sisters on Columbia Records. She later moved to Nashville where she became a successful staff writer for companies such as EMI Music, MCA/Universal and Larga Vista music. She has had songs recorded by many artists, as well as performed on various TV shows.
Ron Kristy has been a TV and film composer for over 25 years. Ron’s music can be heard on shows such as “The Dog Whisperer”, 20/20, “Good Morning America,” “How I met Your Mother” and “Dancing With the Stars”. His music was also recently featured on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”
Accompanying them at 6OTS, will be Janet Cotraccia on vocals/keyboards, and Rich Depaolo on guitar and bass.
According to a media release, the couple met in 2004 at a mutual friend’s party in Nashville. They sang together at the party, soon fell in love, and got married a short time later. After moving to upstate New York, they continued writing and recording music, even after the birth of their first child.
The couple’s debut recording, “Caravan,” was released in 2012, featuring “Blue Paper Boat,” which was among the top finalists in the International Acoustic Music Awards.
