---- — Music, food and fun will be on tap at Babcock’s this weekend to benefit an Otego family.
Singer-songwriter Todd Evans of One Click Culture and Band 57 will perform at a benefit for the Forsha family of Otego, beginning at noon at Babcock’s. The event will also include a Chinese auction starting at 2 p.m., 50/50 raffles, pizza and hot dogs, a bake sale and a snack table.
Proceeds from the day’s events will go to the family of Heather (Lesh) Forsha of Otego, who is undergoing treatment for a grade III brain tumor.
According to a media release from the event organizers, Evans is a former student of Forsha, who taught him piano.
Forsha’s family has lived in the Unadilla area for more than 40 years. Her father, George Lesh, taught music at Unatego Central School. Forsha has been an instructor at Hartwick college for four years in the music program.
At Hartwick, Forsha teaches aural skills and private lessons, and plays collaboratively with faculty and students. She has extensive experience teaching piano, and has taught both private lessons and group classes. In addition to her work in the private studio, Forsha is a collaborative pianist who has played with soloists and small chamber groups, as well as choirs, and theater companies throughout New England, and with high school groups in Otsego County.
