Three exhibits to open in Earlville

The Daily Star

---- — On Saturday, the Earlville Galleries will present exhibits by three women artists.

Emerging mixed media artist Inez Kohn, who summers in Central New York but lives in Florida, is a former research scientist. Her background experiences with pattern recognition and her love of math inform her artistic expression, according to a media release.

Sculptor Ali Della Bitta, an assistant professor of art at the State University College at Plattsburgh, explores the points where the natural environment and the manmade meet, according to the release.

Richelle Soper is a recent graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh’s art program and was a student of Della Bitta. She says of her three-dimensional, mixed-media creations, “I flirt with a material until it will no longer reciprocate. Limitations stimulate my curiosity.”

The three exhibits will open to the public on Saturday, with a reception for the artists from noon to 3 pm. The exhibits will run through July 7. Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays  through Fridays and noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is free.

The Earlville Opera House is at 18 E. Main St. in Earlville and is wheelchair-accessible with a ramp and a lift. For more information, call 315-691-3550 or visit
