The Friends of Music will continue its 28th season with a performance by Trio Vocé on Sunday at the Robinson Terrace Skilled Nursing Facility.
The young artists of Trio Vocé: Fabiola Kim on violin, Jiyoung Lee on cello, and Alan Woo on piano, come to Stamford through the auspices of The Juilliard School, where they are students.
“Through Shadows and Light” will showcase virtuosic solo accompanied works for violin and cello, along with a tour de force masterpiece of the piano trio repertoire. Works of Schubert and Brahms will be highlighted, exploring motivic themes of melancholy and sadness alongside triumph and power, presenters said in a media release. Franz Schubert’s “Sonata in A minor” (originally scored for arpeggione) for cello and piano, as well as his “Rondo in B minor” for violin and piano (“Rondeau Brillant”). Closing the set will be “the Piano Trio No. 1 in B major” by Johannes Brahms.
