Blues train series to start Saturday
The Cooperstown Blues Express will kick off the 2014 season Saturday with Bluestone.
The train boards at 6:30 p.m. at the Milford train depot, hits the tracks at 7 p.m. and arrives back in Milford around 10 p.m.
Bluestone is a five-piece blues band and blues rock outfit. They play a mix of classic blues and blues-rock.
Tickets are $18 per person, and a full cash bar available. The ride is open to those 21 and older with valid identification.
Fifth Regatta Music fest planned
The Regatta Music festival will move into its fifth year this month. It will be held at the General Clinton Canoe Regatta in Bainbridge from 2 to 11 p.m. Sunday, May 25.
This year’s featured band is from Bainbridge. The Woodshed Prophets will perform its blend of rock, country and blues starting at 7:30 p.m. until the fireworks at 10 p.m. and a short set after the fireworks.
Opening the festival, will be the return of Fetish Lane. The group will reunite for a special show featuring its folk/rock sound. Fetish Lane will take the stage at 2 p.m..
In the middle of the two local bands, a band from Binghamton takes the stage. The Gravelding Bros. will play a blend of classic and southern rock favorites. The Gravelding Bros. feature Nick Gravelding, lead singer and guitarist, of Frostbit Blue.
Other acts performing at this regatta, include The Beadle Brothers band, with its blend of country to the Regatta at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 24.
New this year will be The Battle of Bands at 1 p.m. Monday, May 26.
