Pathfinder concert series to open Saturday*

Pathfinder Village will host its 16th annual Concert Series, featuring live performances by local talent, in July and August at no charge to the public. 

Pathfinder Village is a nonprofit, planned community devoted to supporting adults and children who have Down syndrome and other disabilities.  

The concerts, which are held at 7 p.m. Saturdays, will be as follows:

Saturday: Hammered dulcimer virtuoso Dan Duggan and Peggy Lynn will play songs inspired by the New York’s North Country and other folk tunes.

July 20: The Saints Jazz Quintet plus One, a group of seniors from the Cooperstown/Richfield area, will present a danceable concert of jazz, blues, Dixieland, Latin and rock.

July 27: Plan B, a trio from Otsego County, will play a broad spectrum of genres, including classic country, bluegrass, folk, rock and old-time traditional tunes.

Aug. 3: The Sidney Community Band will bring its repertoire of popular music, marches and favorite show tunes.

Aug. 10: Stone Soup, a band from the Mohawk Valley, plays a variety of acoustic music from blues to bluegrass, folk to jazz. The band features Joe Sinchak, Pete Liljeberg, Nick Frirsz, and Suzanne and David Bladek.

Aug. 17: Blues Maneuver will perform repertoire of swing, blues, R&B and oldies. According to a media release, “these guys can play it all!”

Aug. 24: Monkey and the Crowbar will “rock out” to Dylan, The Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Jimmy Buffet and more. “One listen and you’ll want to hear these guys again and again!,” the release said. 

Concert-goers are asked to bring lawn chairs, wear comfortable shoes, and bring jackets to the performances. Parking is available onsite. For more information, call Pathfinder Village at 965-8377, ext. 126, noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, or visit www.pathfindervillage.org.
