Boston-based bluegrass quintet Della Mae released its debut CD for Rounder Records in May. The group returned recently from a U.S. State Department-sponsored tour representing American bluegrass music around the world.
The group will make its way to the Earlville Opera House main stage at 8 p.m. today. Della Mae is known for its bluegrass instrumentals, harmonies and commanding vocals.
The band includes two-time Grand National Fiddle Champion Kimber Ludiker, two-time winner of the Washington Area Music Association’s Best Folk Instrumentalist Award guitarist Avril Smith, bassist Amanda Kowalski, banjoist Grace Van’t Hof, and session player and Jenni Lyn Gardner on mandolin,
General admission is $18, $16 for EOH members and $13 for students. Premium seating in the first four rows is an additional $5. The EOH Theater is wheelchair-accessible with a ramp and a lift.
