Lineup announced for Cooperstown Lakefront Concerts

The ninth annual Cooperstown Lakefront Concert Series will be offered every Tuesday in July and August at 7 p.m. at the historic bandstand at Lakefront Park in Cooperstown. The Village Parks Commission sponsors the free series for nine weeks and offers musical performances by area bands and soloists. 

Attendees should bring a lawn chair or a blanket, and dancing is encouraged.

Here’s the line up, with descriptions provided by organizers:

July 2: Heaven’s Back Door. This acoustic quartet interprets traditional and contemporary blues and jazz along with original compositions.

July 9: New York Players. A 10-piece, show-stopping, horn-fueled, high-energy dance band that performs a a variety of music.

July 16 and Aug. 6: Cooperstown Community Band. The band is celebrating its 152nd anniversary performing patriotic marches, Broadway show tunes and more.

July 23: New Horizons Barbershop Chorus & Full Circle Quartet, which sings a capella music in the barbershop style.

July 30: Wild Women Don’t Get the Blues. Honoring soulful women in music from the early days of blues right up to the modern era.

Aug. 13: The Saints Jazz Quintet Plus One, with an eclectic mix of jazz standards, Dixieland, blues and Latin music along with vocals.

Aug. 20: Flame. Changing the world through music, these musicians who happen to have disabilities, connects with all ages.

Aug. 27: The Donny Brooks, a mix of traditional and modern Celtic music with an emphasis on high energy, Celtic rock.
