The Chenango County Fair along with Millennia Entertainment recently announced country music star Jamie O’Neal will headline this years 5th annual Guitars Under the Stars show, at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7.
O’Neal, a country singer/songwriter is known for her back-to-back No. 1 singles, “There Is No Arizona” and “When I think About Angels,” both from her debut album, “Shiver,” which was released in 2000. By 2004 the artist signed with the Capital Nashville label and released the single “Trying to Find Atlantis.” Most recently, the singer announced in 2012 she had established her own record label, Momentum Label Group, which launched artist, Rachele Lynae, who released her debut single, “Party Til the Cows Come Home,” the same year.
The theme of the show is “heroes,” and O’Neal’s music touches upon the very theme this years show hopes to convey. O’Neal’s song “Somebody’s Hero,” known to some as an anthem for mothers, refers to that not all heroes save people from burning buildings or rule the world, sometimes heroes are the average everyday mother raising children alone, to these children this average woman is their hero, according to a media release.
