‘Steel Magnolias’ to be performed

The Theater Project of Schoharie County will present “Steel Magnolias” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Golding Middle School in Cobleskill. 

Director is Josh Shaut, assistant director is Jason Pratt, and producer is Lisa Ovitt. The cast includes Libby Hammercker as Clairee, Katie Horn as Truvy, Susan Peter as M’Lynn, Kim Ross as Shelby, Cherie Stevens as Oiser and Bobbi Chase Wilding as Annelle.

Open mic set at Word & Image Gallery

Word Thursdays will host an open mic at 7 p.m. Friday. Annie Sauter, an Oneonta poet, will emcee.

Poets, singers, musicians, and performance artists are invited to share their work in the Word & Image Gallery at Bright Hill Literary Center at 94 Church St. in Treadwell. The gallery is now showing “Nature’s Intaglios” by Gerald Scheck through May 24. There is a $3 admission charge to those older than 18. Refreshments will be served.

The next featured reading will be Thursday.

Concert, exhibit set in Bainbridge

Tony Holt & the Wildwood Valley Boys will be on Stage at the Bainbridge Town Hall Theatre from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday.

Originally formed in 1992 as The Wildwood Valley Boys, (named after the Holt family farm in Milan, Ind.) the original members of the band decided to follow separate paths and in 2006, the only original Wildwood Valley Boy, Tony Holt, decided to rename the group Tony Holt and The Wildwood Valley Boys. Current members include Andy Disney, Jeremy Blankenship, Aubrey Holt, Tom Patrick and Tony Holt.

In connection with the concert, The Jericho Arts Council Inc. will feature the works of Christopher Lloyd Wright at the Town Hall Gallery.
