The Glimmerglass Festival will open its season Saturday with a production of Wagner’s “The Flying Dutchman” in the Alice Busch Opera Theater.
The summer season will features productions of “The Flying Dutchman”; Lerner and Loewe’s “Camelot”; Verdi’s “King for a Day”; and “Passions,” a double bill of David Lang’s “the little match girl passion” and Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater.”
The productions run in repertory thorough Aug. 24.
The theater is at 7300 State Highway 80 north of Cooperstown near Springfield.

The festival also announced its lineup for next year. Its four productions will focus on 100 years of music, and will feature Christine Goerke as the 2014 artist in residence.
The festival will feature productions of Puccini’s “Madame Butterfly,” Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Carousel,” Strauss’ “Ariadne in Naxos” and Tobias Picker’s “An American Tragedy.” The productions will run in repertory July 11 through Aug. 24.
