Old Time Band to start season

The first Old Time Band concert of the season will be at 7 p.m. today in the Bainbridge village park.

It will begin its 51st season of Concerts on the Green, featuring many patriotic numbers to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend.

There will be a strawberry social beginning at 6:30 p.m., hosted by the congregation from St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

If it rains, the concert and strawberries will be in the Town Hall Theatre.

Exhibit to open Saturday

“Sculpture and Painting” by Jackson & Hart will be exhibition at the “Mural on Main” Art Gallery at 631 Main St. in Hobart.

There will be an opening reception, open to the public, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, where locally sourced food will be served. The exhibit will be on display through Sept. 2.

The “Mural on Main” Art Gallery is open from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, and by appointment. Call 538-3002 for more information.

The exhibition “Color and Form” with paintings and collages by Barbara Ardan and sculptures by Dennis Stahl will be up until Sunday. 

‘Passion for Color’ to be on display

The exhibit “Passion for Color: Paintings and Collages” by Christine Alexander will be on display Saturday through Aug. 1 at the Cherry Branch Gallery. 

Alexander has an extensive history in fine art, graphic art and design and has been represented by the gallery for more than a year.

The watercolor and acrylic paintings and the cut-paper colleges in this exhibition were made in the artist’s East Meredith studio between 2006 and 2013.

‘Back to Methuselah’ reading set

A week-long playwrighting residency by the Todd Mountain Theater Project will culminate Saturday in a marathon reading of George Bernard Shaw’s “Back to Methuselah” at Roxbury Arts Group. Audience participation will be welcome.
