Auditions set for ‘Our Town’
The Out of the Woodwork Players will have auditions for “Our Town” at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, and Saturday, Aug. 24, at the Bainbridge Town Hall Theatre.
Scheduled to begin OWP’s 25th anniversary performance season, the play will be presented Oct. 18, 19 and 20 in the theater at 15 N. Main St.
Centering on the life stories of the Gibbs family, including Dr. and Mrs. with children George and Rebecca, and editor Webb’s family which includes parents, daughter Emily and son, Wally, the play stresses the importance of treasuring life’s experiences.
Some roles may be filled with an actor for the younger version and another for that character when grown. Cameo and crowd scene roles for performers of varying ages are available. The role of Mrs. Soames and the narrator have been cast.

‘Summer Works 2013’ to open Aug. 16
American Renaissance Theater Company will present “SummerWorks 2013” at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16 and 17, and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 17 and 18, at the Cooperstown Theatre Festival at 7163 State Highway 80 in the town of Springfield.
The performance will include one-man-shows and plays-in-development, written by award-winning playwrights visiting from Manhattan.

‘Rhythms of Asia’ to be presented
Schoharie Colonial Heritage Association will present “Rhythms of Asia,” directed by Jessica Gould, at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at Depot Lane Theater and Saturday at the Schoharie Free Library.
Admission is $5 per person or $15 per family. Admission proceeds on Saturday will benefit Schoharie Recovery. All other proceeds and donations to benefit the free Summer Youth Cultural & Performing Arts Program at Depot Lane Theater.
