Music on the Delaware season to close Saturday

The final concert of the Music on the Delaware season will feature fiddler, composer and vocalist Sara Milonovich at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Walton Theatre, supported by her band, Daisycutter. An open jam session will precede the concert at 6:30.

Raised on a working farm in rural upstate New York, Milonovich began playing fiddle as a 4-year-old and was leading her own bands by the age of 9. She won several bluegrass and old-time fiddle and song contests as a teenager, at the same time performing with the Empire State Youth and Repertory Orchestras and several string quartets. After completing a degree in biology at Cornell, Milonovich was drawn back to music and has traveled around the U.S. and Europe performing Americana-roots, folk, rock, bluegrass, Celtic, and Appalachian music both as a soloist and in collaboration with others. Her recent CD, “Daisycutter” (2009), was a Grammy semifinalist.

Tickets for the Sara Milonovich concert are available at the door of the theater at, or at the following businesses: in Andes at National Bank of Delaware County; in Delhi at Good Cheap Food; in Downsville at Catskill Country Market; in Franklin at Paul White Insurance and NBDC; in Hamden at NBDC; in Masonville at Masonville General Store; in Walton at the Walton Theatre, Sidney Federal Credit Union and NBDC. More information is available at 865-6829 or 865-6983. Tickets are $14 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $30 for family.
