---- — The Fenimore Art Museum will open a new exhibition Monday of Tasha Tudor’s original art for greeting cards, children’s books and holidays — from Christmas and Easter to Valentine’s Day and the Fourth of July.
“Tasha Tudor: Around the Year” will feature watercolors, childhood drawings, original handwritten manuscripts, miniature doll cards, hand-decorated boxes and Easter eggs.
Among the items on exhibit will be Tudor’s personal photographs and first-issue holiday cards evoking changing seasons and annual celebrations.
“Tudor’s heartwarming images remind us of the simple pleasures to be savored in each passing season and the small, special moments that make up the fabric of our lives,” a media release said. “Deeply rooted in her personal aesthetic and philosophy, Tudor’s timeless images engage the eye and the imagination, providing continued inspiration for generations of readers.”
The exhibit runs through Dec. 31. Show co-creator Jeanette Chandler Knazek will be at the Oct. 17 for a gallery tour at at 7 p.m. Nov. 27 for a public lecture. For more details, call 547-1461 or visit www.fenimoreartmuseum.org. The museum is at 5798 State Route 80 in Cooperstown.
