The Susquehanna String Band will perform and Rick Bunting’s photographs will be highlighted at 7 p.m. today at Town Hall Theater on Main Street in Bainbridge.
Bainbridge resident Bunting, who also is a member of the band, is a professor emeritus at SUNY Potsdam and the Crane School of Music, where he served as chair of music education and conductor of Crane Chorus. The musician and artist mostly takes photos of nature.
Bunting said of his work, “The two main benefits of taking these pictures are that I learn so much in the process, and I get to share the experience.”
A media release said he doesn’t think of himself as a photographer, “but as an observer and reporter. … Viewers find that his photos provide glimpses into nature that many of us would miss otherwise.” Bunting calls his collection of photographs “Rick’s Picks.”
The gallery is on the second floor of the Town Hall Building. The events, presented by the Jericho Arts Council, are free and open to the public.
