---- — The B-Side Ballroom and Supper Club will host folk duo The Barn Birds at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Jonathan Byrd and Chris Kokesh met in 2007 at the Americana Song Academy, a weeklong songwriting school in Sisters, Ore.
After teaching at the academy, Byrd went on to play the Sisters Folk Festival where he invited Kokesh to play with him.
They played to two encores, and Byrd was invited back to play again the next year.
The duo toured the Pacific Northwest and Midwest, and came back to Oregon to make their first recordings.
They had to stop recording when the birds in the walls of the barn would erupt in song. They dubbed themselves the Barn Birds.
In 2011, the Barn Birds re-recorded the album, this time at Blue Rock Studio in Wimberly, Texas
Doors will open at 5 p.m. for dinner.
The show will be at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door.
