Three arrested for on shooting and meth charges

Investigator executed 'no knock' warrant in McDonough

-- — A burst of gunfire in the rural town of McDonough in Chenango County has led to the arrest of three people, including a woman who allegedly fired the shots, and her ex-boyfriend, a convicted felon who was charged today with manufacturing methamphetamine in the town of Greene, authorities said.

The two-day investigation into the alleged meth lab off Stein Road in Greene was triggered when deputies responded to a home at 309 Chenango County Route 7 in McDonough on Thursday afternoon.

The Chenango County Sheriff's Office said deputies arrested Connie B. Hendrickson, 47, of Greene on two counts of first-degree attempted assault and two counts of first-degree reckless endangerment.

Hendrickson allegedly fired six rounds from a rifle at her ex-boyfriend, identified as Glenn E. O'Connor, 45, of Greene, and Kimberly N. Haughton, 28, of Greene, while the two were seated in Haughton's car.

Deputies said no injuries resulted from the shooting but noted that three shots ripped into the side of Haughton's car.

Haughton was charged Thursday with criminal possession of approximately three grams of methamphetamine, known on the streets as "crank."

O'Connor was initially charged with unlawful possession of a rifle. The Sheriff's Office identified him as a convicted felon.

This morning, investigators executed a "no knock" search warrant after they said they learned that the residence was the site of a meth lab. Deputies said they seized three ounces of methamphetamine.

O'Connor was then charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Hendrickson, who is also facing two misdemeanor counts of menacing, has been ordered held at the county jail for lack of $20,000 cash bail, while O'Connor remains jailed for lack of $5,000 bail.

Haughton was issued an appearance ticket directing her to answer the drug charge later this month in McDonough Town Court.
