ONEONTA — Oneonta police arrested three men Tuesday night and charged them with possession of illegal drugs worth an estimated $8,000.
According to an Oneonta Police Department news release, at approximately 8:30 p.m.,a patrol division responded to a reported fight at 40 Maple St. The fight had ended before the police arrived, but an investigation indicated that the altercation may have been drug-related.
The patrol and detective division found a large quantity of drugs, cash, and a firearm resulting in the arrest on charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree of Terell S. Hardy, 37, and Jose M. Gonzalez, 20, from the Bronx, and David A. Kohls, 21, of Oneonta.
The Class B felony charges could result in up to nine years in prison.
Seized were the following items, police said:
• 409 bags of heroin and packaging material with a street value of approximately $8000;
• $2,992 in cash;
• 5.8 Grams of marijuana;
• A .22 Ruger Rifle;
• Two hydrocodone pills and
• Two hypodermic needles
The suspects were arraigned in front of Judge Lucy Bernier and remanded to the Otsego County Correctional Facility. Bail was set at $25,000 bail for Kohls and $30,000 each for Hardy and Gonzalez.
