Another body has been found in a case linked to a house fire in the town of Walton last week in which two other sets of remains were found, state police said Monday.
Authorities identified the latest set of remains as those of Randy L. Sundstrom, 49, the husband of Debra S. Sundstrom, 48, who apparently committed suicide with a gunshot to the head Tuesday in the house at 294 John Lockwood Road as two law-enforcement officials conducted an investigation on the property.
Randy Sundstrom's remains were found at 1884 South River Road, which authorities have given as Debra Sundstrom's address. His death is thought to have occurred in February 2010, state police said in a press release.
They also identified a set of remains found in the basement of the gutted house as those of Dominick Bosco, 51, who lived there. State police said they had not determined how Bosco died.
The two officials who were at the John Lockwood Road address Tuesday – Walton Police Chief Brian Laauser and Karl Vagts, a senior investigator for the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office – rushed into the house after hearing two gunshots, state police have said. They found Debra Sundstrom's body, but were forced to evacuate when they realized the house was on fire, state police said.
State police have not described the nature of the investigation Laauser and Vagts were conducting. Debra Sundstrom was arrested on five counts of grand larceny in late January, according to police records.
