---- — Proceeds from the 2013 Bassett New Year’s Eve Gala, “Queen of Hearts,” will benefit the Bassett Heart Care Institute.
The annual benefit, hosted by the Friends of Bassett Healthcare Network, will be held at The Otesaga Hotel in Cooperstown, from 7 p.m. Dec. 31 to 12:30 a.m. Jan. 1. The evening features cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, a nonpareil dinner buffet, open bars, a midnight champagne toast and fireworks.
Gala chairmen are Dr. John Kelley, division chief of cardiac surgery, and Dr. Patrick McNulty, division chief of cardiology.
Tom Morgan of Oneonta will be honored guest. Morgan, a syndicated columnist who formerly headed The Morgan McReynolds Group at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in Oneonta, with his wife, Erna McReynolds, served as the spokesperson for the opening of the Bassett Heart Care Institute and fundraising campaign.
The Bassett Heart Care Institute is celebrating its 10th year providing a variety of cardiac and coronary care services throughout the Bassett network.
This year’s “Adventures in Wonderland” theme will play off images and tales from the beloved children’s novel “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll, according to a media release.
The silent auction will feature items including stays in Europe and stateside, household items, cruises, artwork and more. Call the Friends office for a copy of the event program.
